Certifications for Event Producers

Here is a some of the requirements to become ASPA Certified as a Gym or Program:

  • Parent Viewing area
  • Schedules released before tryouts
  • AED in Gym and accessible within a 2 minute window (and people trained on how to use it.)
  • Background checks available upon request for all coaches, staff and guest professionals
  • No Private groups, no matter the age. (Parents should be allowed to be in team groupmes, etc)
  • Shares Scores.
  • Have fundraising opportunities available for parents
  • Concussion Protocol, visible to parents upon request 
  • Concussion and First Aid certification held by all coaches 
  • Parent communication plan, that lays out financial expenses up front, including timelines for payments, schedules for things like choreo, gym events that are mandatory for athletes

Here is a some of the requirements to become ASPA Event Producer:

  • Water available in warmups and backstage.
  • Performance Orders posted publicly no later than COB Tuesday
  • Results AND Scores within predetermined timeframe after comp time 
  • AED backstage or at least accessible within a 2 minute window (and people trained on how to use it.)
  • Ambulance at event (not on standby)
  • Vetted hotels if a Stay and Play is required.
  • Discounts for 2 day spectator admission
  • Additional Warmup time for Teams over 30 Athletes
